Vaginal Contraceptive Film (VCF) is a vaginal sperimicide, a 2-inch by 2-inch paper thin, translucent sheet that contains a chemical that kills sperm (Nonocynol-9). Simple to use, just insert it on or near the cervix (the opening of the womb) -- no mess, no discharge, and you can't even tell it's there. Can be bought without a prescription at most drug stores. You do not need help from your partner to use this method. VCFs may be used alone or with a condom for safer sex. Film also reduces the risk of getting some Sexually Transmitted Diseases.
